The shock and the pain cuts me like a dagger
I know that things have changed now the scorpion has stung
An explosion of emotions overwhelms me
Exposing the foundation of my being
It's time to join together in compassion
We're all welcome in the sanctuary of love
Though we weep tears in grief for the harshness of humanity
The centre of our power is the softness of our hearts
Anger boils over in the panic
And so many in their sadness and hopelessness focus on the fight
But together in our strength, we can make the changes
Knowing that two wrongs will never make a right
